Course Structure & pricing per level

  • Each level consists of 8 lessons (2 hours each).
  • Both online and physical classes are available.
  • Course fee $55/lesson before GST (i.e. $479.60 per level).

Communication Malay Class – Course Outline

Topics:

  • Introduction to Malay – Basic phonics, greetings & daily expressions
  • Numbers & Time – Counting, telling time, days of the week
  • Everyday Conversations – Nouns, pronouns, talking about self and others
  • Food & Beverage – Vocabulary & basic restaurant conversations
  • Transport & Travel – Asking/giving directions, transport vocabulary
  • Shopping & Trade – Shopping phrases, asking prices, making payments
  • Health & Body – Describing physical condition and basic health terms
  • Free Conversation & Evaluation – Role-play, fluency practice, feedback

Expected Outcome:
Learners will be able to engage in basic daily conversations in Malay, introduce themselves, ask simple questions, and understand essential vocabulary for food, travel, shopping, and health contexts.

  • Review of Basics – Basic grammar, recalling common words & expressions
  • Informal Spoken Conversations – Expressing opinions & ideas casually
  • Formal Spoken Conversations – Using Malay appropriately in formal settings
  • Workplace Conversation Skills – Discussing work, business, and essential workplace vocabulary
  • Social Conversations – Talking about social activities, hobbies, and entertainment

Learners will be able to form verbs using Malay prefixes, improving accuracy and variety in sentence construction. They will begin using more grammatically complex Malay.

  • Suffix “-kan”
  • Suffix “-an”
  • Circumfix “me-kan”
  • Circumfix “di-kan”
  • Circumfix “me-i”
  • Circumfix “di-i”
  • Circumfix “ber-an”

Expected Outcome:
Learners will be able to apply suffixes and circumfixes effectively, expanding vocabulary and expressing more nuanced meanings in spoken and written Malay.

  • Idioms and Proverbs
  • Malay Limerick/Poetry (Pantun introduction)

Expected Outcome:

  • 1–8. Practicing Composition, Comprehension, and Cloze Passages (across themes such as work, culture, current affairs, stories, and personal experiences)
